If we fly into North Bend, a shuttle may be all we need.

The catch: the Friday plan (lunch in Florence and a bonus round at Sandpines) needs wheels. Without a car, we'd drop Sandpines or book a shuttle for that day too.

Airport Shuttles

These are the shuttle and taxi companies the North Bend airport lists. The resort doesn't run airport shuttles. None of these companies post prices, so call or email for a quote for 8 golfers with 8 golf bags. Older reviews mention about $45–60 per person from North Bend. Expect more now.

Rental Cars (If Needed)

Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty have counters at the North Bend airport. Enterprise is in Coos Bay. Eugene has the usual big rental companies. The number of cars is TBD. Two cars is only a guess for 8 golfers and 8 golf bags.

Hours are from the resort's website as of Sep 2026 and may change by April. The four restaurants that take reservations book up to 6 months ahead. Want a private room? The St. Andrews Room holds up to 48 people and has a $1,500 food and drink minimum plus a 21% tip. Call (541) 347-5636 to ask.

Caddies

Bandon is walking only. Each pair shares one caddie who carries both bags, and the same caddie stays with us for every round unless we ask for a change.

Not requested yet. We'll send our caddie requests in October 2026, asking for Dan and Connor plus 2 others. The resort only needs a week's notice, but earlier is better.

What It Costs
The fee is $125 per bag per round, plus a tip. The resort doesn't set a tip amount, so pick one to see the totals. We should agree on a tip as a group.

Caddies get paid in cash, straight from us, at the end of each round. Bring enough cash for the whole trip. If you run short, the golf shop can charge "caddie cash" to your room and hand you the money.

What Goes in the Bag

A round here is over 6 miles of walking, so caddies ask for a light carry bag: a stand bag with a strap, 25 lb or less.

Leave everything else in the room. Bringing a big cart bag? The caddie supervisor moves your gear into a loaner carry bag at the course and stores your bag there.

Fees and rules are from the resort's caddie page as of Sep 2026. Another option is a group caddie, who helps all four players but carries no bags: $40 per player for a foursome.

Weather & Packing

April on the Oregon coast is cool, windy and often wet. We walk 36 holes on four straight days, so pack for rain, wind and wet feet.
